BEML to play in I-league II division qualifiers

After failing to conform to the AFC criterions initially, the Navaratna Company from the garden city has finally got the green signal to participate in the I-league II division.

Earlier, AIFF did not pick BEML as they did not register the club as a separate entity within the stipulated time of December 31, 2010.

BEML will be playing the qualifying rounds at the temple town of Madurai. The other teams in their group include Techno Aryan (Kolkata), Royal Wahingdoh (Shillong), Chandni FC (Kerala), Eagles FC (Kerala), Vasco (Goa), and PIFA Colaba Youngster FC (Mumbai).

The qualifying teams are set in 3 groups with 7 teams in each group. The top two teams from each group will qualify for the final round in Shillong (Meghalaya). The relegated teams from the last edition of I-league I division, Shillong Lajong FC and Sporting Clube de Goa.
