A total of 24 teams turning up for the first edition of the Blues Cup, a 5-a-side Corporate Football Tournament played at the PLaY, off-Sarjapur Rd. tomorrow, from 10 am. The matches will be played in league-cum-knock out format. Teams are distributed in 4 groups where the group topper from each group would qualify for the Cup 1 quarterfinals. The second best team from each group would qualify for the Cup 2 quarterfinals. The games would be played in tandem at different pitches.
Major teams Amazon, EMC2, Convergys, LinkedIn, Misys, HP, Mindtree, Ernst & Young, Cognizant, Flipcart, Mu Sigma, Nokia, TCS, HCL, Wells Fargo, Cognizant, Deloitte, Decathlon, Omega, and ansrsource will be participating this mega event.
The league matches will consists of two periods of 10 minutes each with 1 minute break in between the two halves. The knockout stage (Quarter, Semifinals, and Finals) will consist of two periods of 12 minutes each with 2 minute break to be provided between two halves.
A team should comprise of maximum 8 players with 5 on the pitch and each team will play a minimum of 2 games in the league stages.
Blues Cup has tied with Sakra World Hospital as their medical partner. A full-fledged ICU on wheels ambulance will be available at the match venue. The Ambulance would comprise of 2 full time trained Nursing Staff in BLS/CPR and all trauma, open injury, blunt injuries and physiotherapy, along with first aid kit.
