Karnataka kickstart 20th Women's National campaign on April 30

Karnataka state senior women’s team will be participating in the 20th edition of Women's National Championship at Dibrugarh, Assam. Our state girls are placed in Group B along with Goa, Gujarat, Orissa, Mizoram, and Haryana. 

India international Amoolya Kamal will lead the 20-member team. They will open their campaign against Gujarat on April 30.

  • April 30, 2014: Orissa 6 Vs Haryana 0 
  • April 30, 2014: Mizoram 1 Vs Goa 1
  • April 30, 2014: Karnataka 8 (Amoolya-3 Paromita-2, Simran-1, Madhubala-2) Vs Gujarat 1 (Manasi-1) 
  • May 2, 2014: Haryana 2 Vs Goa 2 
  • May 2, 2014: Karnataka 0 Vs Orissa 8 (Suba Praba-2, Sinulatha-2, Arti-1, Parry-1, Shakina Nisha-2)
    A much stronger Orissa team defeated Karnataka 8-0. Team manager and former international player and coach cited lack of practice and regular women’s tournament for this loss. With only one team qualifying from each group, Orissa girls stand a good chance to qualify for semifinal after 3 win from as many matches. In spite of remaining three more matches, Karnataka’s chance look bleak.

    State eves missed several goal scoring opportunities! 
  • May 6, 2014: Mizoram 2 (Lalrinnungi-22', 45') Vs Karnataka 1 (Amolya-50') 
    Our state girls lost to Mizoram 2-1, their third defeat from four games. With only a game remaining, they will finish second-to-last in the points table.

  • May 6, 2014: Orissa 3 Vs Goa 0
  • May 8, 2014: Haryana 2 Vs Karnataka
