Bengaluru FC inter school soccer shield

The second edition of the BFC Inter School Soccer Shield will kick off at The GameChanger sports facility, in Mathikere, on December 12, 2016. 
The six day tournament, which will be conducted in a seven-a-side League and knockout format, will be held across three age categories (U10, U12, U14) with 16 teams in each category.

[NOTICE] Inter School U-16 Boys Football Tourney at Bangalore Football Stadium

BDFA will be conducting an Inter-school U16 football tournament in the second week of August at the Bangalore Football Stadium. The primary objective of this tournament is to pick the talented boys by experienced coaches and then train them for future.

Participants must be born on or after 1/8/1999. There is no entry fee for this tournament and the last date of receiving entry is 30/7/2015.

Interested schools may collect entry forms from the BDFA office from 3 pm - 5 pm.

4th Edition of Parikrma Champions League

Parikrma Champions League, an annual school football event organized by the Parikrma Humanity Foundation will be starting from November 18 at the HMT grounds, Jalahalli, Bangalore. This will be the 4th edition of the Parikrma Champions League which will go on till November 18. 

A total of 16 schools will be competing in the Parikrma Champions League, 4 schools are divided in 4 groups, and top 2 schools from each group will make to the knock-out stage. 

Parikrma Champions League will witness 3 out stationed schools from Goa and Kerala and with 13 schools from the Garden City.

3rd U-16 Parikrma Champions League kicks off on September 16

U-16 Parikrma Champions League football tournament is kicking off on 10 am, Monday, September 16 at the Bangalore Football Stadium. Parikrma Champions League will be in third edition, this tournament is presented by Menzies Aviation in association with the Karnataka State Football Association (KSFA) 

This year fourteen school teams from Bangalore and a team from Mumbai, Goa, and Kerala will join the battle for the Equality Cup, a trophy that symbolizes the breaking down of social barriers. This year’s Parikrma Champions League was launched today at the Bangalore Football Stadium by former Indian Olympian Ashwini Nachappa.

Parikrma Humanity Foundation is a NGO with the aim to ensure that even the poorest children have access to the best opportunities anywhere in the world. Now in its 10th year of operations, Parikrma runs 4 Centers for Learning and a Junior College for 1566 children from 69 slum communities and 4 orphanages in Bangalore. 

The event will start with a league stage consisting of 4 groups with the top 8 teams progressing into the knock-out round for ranking positions.

The highlights of this year's tournament were the sports workshops for sports management, sports journalism, sports commentary, and sports entertainment, conducted for the children’s from schools in Bangalore. For the first time in India, Parikrma organized an Age Verification Test for children from the participating schools to bring in fair play. Stadium will be equipped with a large LED screen and live video feed.

Speaking via Skype from the UK, Mervyn Walker, Executive VP, Operations of Menzies Aviation that lead sponsor of the  Parikrma Champions League said, "We are really happy to support Parikrma Humanity Foundation to make Parikrma Champions League a household name in inter-school tournaments. Through this event we are combining the development of our global leadership team with an effort to help fulfill our corporate social responsibility by supporting a very worthy cause in a great city."

      Airtel Rising Stars postponed indefinitely

      Call it an over-dependence of one ground or paucity of quality decent grounds, the annual U-16 Airtel Rising Stars (ARS) Bangalore leg, which was slated for tomorrow, Tuesday, August 20, has been postponed. 

      As many as 58 teams were participating in this inter school event, accordingly the ground was reserved for this event, from August 20 thru September 5. However, the schedule is clashing with JSW Sports, who using the same ground for the senior team as well as for setting up their academy. 

      BDFA has postponed this event for now, they are going to meet the KSFA committee members tomorrow afternoon to find out a solution. 

      There is no entry fee for this tournament and unlike last year, this year’s ARS will be played in a different format (inter-school), which will include players from Mangalore and Mysore.

      BDFA to conduct trials for Airtel Rising Stars 2013

      Indian telecom giant Airtel has entrusted BDFA to conduct trials for the Bangalore leg of Airtel Rising Stars Football Championship 2013. 

      In the last edition, a total of 52 players were shortlisted from 16 cities. The final round was played at the Bangalore Football Stadium.

      There is no entry fee for this tournament and the children from the Bangalore schools are eligible to participate. 

      Also, this edition of Airtel Rising Stars is being played at the other cities of Karnataka - Mysore and Mangalore. The selected players from these cities will join the Bangalore players for the qualification stage.

      Mahindra Youth Football Challenge Finals from Saturday



      Third edition of Mahindra Youth Football Challenge Finals will commence from Saturday, April 13 at Bangalore Football Stadium. The winners from six cities across India will participate in round robin format and will go on till April 26. 

      The teams will be from Bangalore, Kolkata, Mumbai, Goa, Kerala, and Delhi. Greenwood International won the Bangalore leg played in October last year - http://www.gcsstars.com/2012/11/mahindra-youth-football-challenge-2012.html.

      All the matches will be played along with ongoing Final round of I-League 2nd Division. The timings of the matches are adjusted accordingly to facilitate the I-League 2nd Division teams.
