St. Joseph's Boys' High School lift Karnataka leg of CISCE U-17 Pre-Subroto Cup

St. Joseph's Boys' High School (SJBHS) defeated Greenwood High, Sarjapur 3-2 to win the Council for The Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) Pre-Subroto Cup, Karnataka region. They will go on to play the final round of CISCE U-17 Pre-Subroto Cup scheduled in Kolkata late next month. 

SJBHS hosted the event, which was played by 14 CISCE schools across the state (Chikmagalur, Bhatkal, Bengaluru) from June 21 to 28 at the Bangalore Football Stadium. 

Teams were divided in 4 groups with the top 2 teams making to the knockout stage. In the first semi-final, SJBHS beat 4-1 Greenwood, Bannerghatta Rd. while Greenwood, Sarjapur Rd won the second semi-final defeating Bishop Cotton Boys' School 1-0. 

In the keenly contested final, Greenwood took an early lead via Noel Savio John (1’) and Animesh Nandi (9’). Ajay Arjun reduced the margin in the added time in first half. SJBHS came back strongly in the later half, Liyan Thanveer scored the equalizer, and the winner for SJBHS came from Goutham Paul. 

Bengaluru FC inter school soccer shield

The second edition of the BFC Inter School Soccer Shield will kick off at The GameChanger sports facility, in Mathikere, on December 12, 2016. 
The six day tournament, which will be conducted in a seven-a-side League and knockout format, will be held across three age categories (U10, U12, U14) with 16 teams in each category.

6th Parikrma Champions League commencing next week

The 6th edition of the U-16 Parikrma Champions League will be played from November 24 thru 26 at the Bangalore Football Stadium. A total of 16 teams, 13 of Bengaluru’s, 1 team from Kerala, and 2 teams from Goa will battle it out for this year’s cup. 

Parikrma Humanity Foundation has always had the enthusiasm for sports, this year the teams will battle it out for the Equality Cup, which that symbolizes the breaking down of social barriers and celebrating the spirit of football in its truest sense. 

CEO of I-League will be inaugurating the tournament. In keeping with the belief of fair play, the players undergo a Bone-density test to determine their ages correctly. 

Matches will be played in knock-out format of 20-20 minutes and the semifinals and final will have 30-30 minute duration.
