[NOTICE] Referees Committee to conduct entrance and promotional exam

Referees Committee of Karnataka will be conducting an entrance and promotional examination at the Bangalore Football Stadium on Sunday, December 20.

Interested candidates can walk in to attend the examination with original 10th Grade (SSLC) marks card and photograph.

Here’s the examination schedule:

• 7 am - physical fitness (Bangalore Football Stadium)
• 12 pm - theory written examination (West Wing, Bangalore Football Stadium)

[NOTICE] Referee entrance exam

Referees Committee of the Karnataka State Football Association (KSFA) is conducting referees entrance examination during last week of November 2015. Applications are invited from candidates who are desirous of appearing for this examination. 

Candidates who have successfully passed SSLC (10th grade) examination, having knowledge in English, and fall in 18-25 years age bracket are eligible for the examination.

Application should be written in a white paper providing details along with full address,  contact number, and a copy of SSLC marks card. It should reach to the KSFA office on or before October 15, 2015.

[NOTICE] KSFA Referees committee to conduct training and examination

The KSFA Referees Committee will be conducting training classes at the Bangalore Football Stadium in the month of December. The training will be followed by an examination, which will be held in January next year. 

Last year the Referees Committee conducted a similar program, which got an excellent response – 49 trainees, including several youngsters across the state attended the program and appeared for the exam. A total of 27 candidates passed the examination. 

In the recently concluded BDFA C Division, 10 successful referees officiated the league.

Referees seminar stresses on the fitness aspect of match officials

Former FIFA referee Col (Retd) Goutam Kar and head of the Referees Department of AIFF spoke on the policies and practices adopted by FIFA and AIFF for the development of referees and improving the standard of referees in Karnataka.

His talk on the seminar primarily focused on the following aspects: 

• Grassroot referees 
• Women referees
• Clarification of referees
• Training of Referees
• Assessment and grading of referees

Also, Col. Kar stressed on the fitness aspect of referees and training of young referees besides training the trainer. 

Referees of other districts too attended the seminar. 

Seminar for Karnataka Referees

Karnataka State Football Association along with the Referees Committee will be conducting a seminar for the referees of Karnataka on Saturday, January 11, 11.30 am at the Bangalore Football Stadium.

The seminar will be conducted by former FIFA referee, Col (Rtd) Goutam Kar . Currently, Col Kar heads the Referees Department of the All India Football Federation (AIFF).

In this seminar, Col. Kar will talk on the Policies and Practices adopted for development of football officials and officiating in India. KSFA President, AR Khaleel will inaugurate the seminar. 

National referee P Kabilan no more

P Kabilan, 46, National and Karnataka state referee expired yesterday midnight, at his residence, Periyar Nagar near Venkateshpuram. Kabilan left his wife Sheba, one daughter, and two sons. He was the son of late Palani, former Vice Chairman at Devara Jeevahalli Town Panchayat. 

Kabilan was an active referee and seen in the local matches. He officiated his last match on the ongoing BDFA B division match on January 23, between Minerva and Orientals. 

He was deputed as a referee for the various national-level age group matches - U-21, U-19, U-16, and U-14. 

Along with international player Babu Mani, Kabilan represented Karnataka state in the 1983 Junior National at Kolkata. During the local matches, he turned out for Telecom Football Club, HMT, LRDE, and RWF. 

Burial was taken place at the Pillana Garden Burial ground. A large football contingent from Periyarnagar attended the funeral.

 

One minute silence was observed in respect of P Kabilan in today’s BDFA B division match between BWSSB and Government Press. Also, the first match between Jupiters and Oriental was postponed today. Apparently, both the teams belong to the Periyar Nagar locality. This match was postponed to facilitate the teams to attend the funeral.

KSFA to conduct promotional referees examination

Karnataka State Football Association (KSFA) will be conducting an entrance cum promotional football referees examination during the last week of April. 

Interested candidates between 18 to 28 years having passed SSLC examination with knowledge of Football can apply. Classes will be conducted in the month of March.

Former FIFA referee passes away

G Natarajan, former footballer and the first FIFA badge holder referee from Karnataka passed away at his residence at K P Agrahara on yesterday, July 3.
Natarajan played as a goalkeeper for city-based teams, Bangalore Sporting, Bangalore Blues, and Bangalore Youths teams for several years. He continued his association with football in the capacity of a referee after hanging his football boot.
Natarajan was 89 and was suffering from respiratory problems. He left behind wife, one son, and two daughters.

The state (KSFA) and the district football association (BDFA) condoled the death of this great servant of state football.
