Celtic FC coaches to train the under-14 rookies

B G S International Residential School, Bangalore will host the Under-14 Mahindra Youth Football Challenge for the inter-city winners. The tournament will commence from April 25, 2011.

Before the tournament gets started, renowned coaching staff from Celtic FC, Scotland will impart guidance to the players and coaches of the 6 participating teams from April 21 thru 24.

The following school teams from 6 cities have emerged victorious in the intra-city round and the teams will be benefitted from the expertise and knowledge of coaches from Celtic FC.
  • Government Sports High School – Bangalore
  • CRPF School, Rohini – Delhi
  • Infant Jesus High School – Goa
  • St. Joseph BHH School – Kerala
  • Sukanta Nagar Vidyaniketan – Kolkata
  • Don Bosco High School, Matunga - Mumbai
Mahindra Youth Football Challenge, promoted by Procam International, is India’s first grassroots level under-14 football tournament, aimed at identifying talented footballers who will get a chance to travel to Scotland and train with Celtics FC.

The following academy coaches from the Celtic FC will be present at the four-day clinic to train the coaches and players of each of the six teams on individual skills, techniques and tactical aspects of the game:
  • Mark Reid – former premier league player
  • Chris Hendry - former premier league player
  • Robert Glen – Goalkeeping Coach
The four-day coaching clinic will be a precursor to the Mahindra Youth Football Challenge Inter-City Championship, which will be played from April 25 to 30 and will decide the champion school from these six cities.
