Khaleel steps down as the president of state football association

At the governing board meeting of Karnataka State Football Association (KSFA) held, yesterday, January 17, AR Khaleel, President of KSFA announced that he is resigning from his position with immediate effect due to his failing health. 

Also, governing board unanimously passed a resolution by duly electing NA Haris, MLA of the  Shanthinagar constituency and patron and member of the governing board as the acting president with full powers of the existing president until election of a regular president by the association after the following due process of election for the office of the President as prescribed under the constitution of KSFA.

Khaleel had been the president of KSFA since 1989. He joined the Bangalore District Football Association (BDFA) in 1953, took over as treasurer of the KSFA in 1961, and became KSFA vice-president in 1981, and president thereafter.
