The selectors today declared the team for the South Zone qualifying round for 71st senior national football championship, Santosh Trophy, to be held at Calicut, Kerala from January 5 to 9. The team will leave today night.

Ozone FC Bengaluru's medio Amoes and Amrinder, Udanta, and Ranjan Singh from Bengaluru FC are among the probables for 12th South Asian Games. India U-23 Head Coach, Lee Johnson has announced his list of 28 probables for the forthcoming Tournament in Guwahati, slated to kick-off from February 06, 2016.
The initial list of 21 Players have already joined the Preparatory Camp in Guwahati, which commenced from January 31, 2016.
India who have been clubbed alongside Sri Lanka and Maldives in Group A and will clash swords against Sri Lanka in their opening fixture on February 06, 2016 before taking on Maldives on February 10, 2016.
Talking exclusively to www.the-aiff.com, Lee Johnson said: “We have imbibed a new setup for the U-23 National Team and most of the Players are new. The lads understand the importance of the Competition and they remain focused on emulating the success of the Senior Team.”
When inquired about the squad fitness, Lee opined, “The squad is fit and looks in good shape except Nikhil and Amrinder who are nursing minor injuries. But we expect them to train within the next couple of days.”
The 28 member squad will further be trimmed down to 20 and will be announced either on 4th or the 5th.

The Disciplinary committee of AIFF, under the chairmanship of Mr. N.A. Khan, met at All India Football House today to consider the following agenda:
- Misconduct by Mr. Pradhyum Reddy – Asst. Coach of Bengaluru FC
- Misconduct by Mr. Ashley Westwood – Head Coach of Bengaluru FC
- Misconduct by Mr. Khalid Jamil – Head Coach Mumbai FC
- Misconduct by Mr. Amoes Do – Player of Mumbai FC
Bengaluru FC - fined Rs. 2 lac and they have been warned to improve the organizational facilities.
Pradhyum Reddy - charged under Section 58 of AIFF Disciplinary code of using abusive language and hereby suspended for four matches.
Ashley Westwood - charged with two separate charges. He was reported to enter into the playing pitch to protest the decision of the referee as well as misconduct in the field. Henceforth he was fined Rs. 2 lac as per Section 12 of I-League regulations.
Khalid Jamil - tendered unconditional apology and undertook to behave decently in future as per the AIFF rules and regulations. He is suspended for four matches for using offensive behaviour during the match as per the Article 58 of the AIFF disciplinary code.
Mr. Amoes Do, the player of Mumbai FC, is guilty of breach of I-League Regulations under Section 12 as the player has indulged in offensive behaviour after the match. Amoes is fined Rs. 50,000/- and also warned to abide by the AIFF rules and regulations.
Ready for some more Namma-flavors? Bengaluru FC has confirmed the signings of talented medio Amoes and Niroshan Mani. With their addition, the JSW-owned team now boasts of having 5 Bangalore-based players in their rooster. The duo have been on trial with Bengaluru FC for quite some time.
SAI product Amoes played for South United last season and before that he has plied trade with Southern Blues, KGF Academy (BEML). Mani played for I-League club Sporting Clube de Goa for two seasons, later he joined South United on loan and played in I-League second Division qualifiers.
Bengaluru FC has already signed Bangalore-based players Vishal Ravindra, Don Bosco Andrew, and Sampath Kumar Kuttymani.

Bengaluru FC, on Tuesday, announced the signing of two local boys Niroshan Mani and Amoes on the squad for the I-League season that begins in less than two weeks. The midfield duo has signed one year contracts with the club coached by former Manchester United player Ashley Westwood.
Twenty-one-year-old Niroshan is a TFA graduate who spent two seasons with Goan club Sporting Clube de Goa before securing a loan move to local club South United. “I haven’t come across a more professional set up than the one I’ve seen at Bengaluru FC. The coach is fantastic and this is an opportunity that will do well for my career,” said Niroshan.
The twin signings takes the local presence in the club to five. “The boys were on trial and impressed us enough to give them a chance. They are young and would do well to improve playing for the team. It’s also good to have more local presence in the team and it’s a motivation for youngsters in the community to do well,” said Westwood.
“It’s great to get this chance to play for a club from your city. This is my first brush with the I-League and I’m going to do everything to make it count,” said 19-year-old Amoes who has represented Karnataka state two times in the Santosh Trophy. The boy from Murphy town has also been part of the state under-15 and under-19 teams.
