47th Dr. B C Roy Trophy: Karnataka thulp Rajasthan


The state juniors registered a back to back win by crushing Rajasthan 13-0 in their 2nd match of Cluster I in the ongoing under-19 nationals. Last Saturday, the lads defeated Chhattisgarh 14-0.

Sitting pretty with 2 large wins, Karnataka tops the points table, they only need a point to cleanly qualify for the next round. They will play their last group match against Meghalaya on Wednesday, June 9. Meghalaya won their first match against Rajasthan 6-0 and later today they won their second match against Chhattisgarh 4-1.

Lokesh pumped 5 goals and did the bulk of scoring. Prakash Majumdar, who scored 6 goals against Chhattisgarh on the other day, fired 3 goals today. Scoring 9 goals from 2 matches, Majumdar is a real threat to opponents' defense.
