47th Dr. B C Roy Trophy: Karnataka top Group A, enter semi-final

Continuing their unbeaten streak, Karnataka played a 1-1 draw against Uttarakhand. The state lads emerged the eventual topper from Group A and entered the semi-final stage. Karnataka was sitting pretty with 2 wins from as many matches and they needed only a point to top the group. Uttarakhand also made to the top 4 by the virtue of a win, a draw, and a loss.

Meanwhile, Goa crashed out of the tournament by loosing to Meghalaya 1-0. The powerhouse state needed a straight win to qualify for the semis.

Karnataka will play with the runner-up team from Group B on Thursday, June 24, 3 pm. The second ranked team from Group A, Uttarakhand will play with the winner from Group B on Friday, June 25, 3 pm.


This is a consistent performance from the state juniors, let us all hope that they will continue their good run for the next matches. With HAL participating in the I-League division 1 and the other teams eying to tap junior talents, surely the lads will come up with a stellar performance to impress them.
