Aadira to lead state team in U-17 Women’s National Championship

Aadira Ghosh of Modern Girls FC, winner of KSFA Women's A Division League 21-22 will lead the Karnataka team in Under 17 Women’s National Championship. The junior nationals will be played at Guwahati, Assam from June 21 to July 4, 2022. 

Karnataka is placed in Group B along with Mizoram, Uttar Pradesh, and Chaattisgarh.  

The team is coached by former state footballer Ashwitha Shetty while another former state footballer Shivashankari will don the role of team manager. The squad will leave for Guwahati tomorrow.

NOTICE: Hero Junior Girls National Football Championship Selection Trials

Selection trials for Karnataka State team for the the Hero Junior Girls National Football Championship will be held at the Bangalore Football Stadium at 7 am on Friday, April 5, 2019. 

Those born between Jan 1, 2003 and Dec 31, 2005, are eligible but only if they possess original birth certificates and ID proof. 

Girls interested must register with the KSFA office or through email giving the following details: name, date of birth, position playing, club/school, before March 4, 2019.

State boys to start U16 Dr. BC Roy Trophy tomorrow, Bhanu to captain

State U16 team will start their Junior National Football Championship Dr. BC Roy Trophy tomorrow 11 am at Hoshairpur, Punjab. Boys will play their first match against Assam. Karnataka is placed in Group A in a 16-team 4-group tournament. Other teams in their group are Punjab and Chhattisgarh. 

Coached by Ravi Kumar of HAL, the U16 team will play their other matches on 7th against Punjab and 9th against Chhattrisgarh. Bhanu Prakash from Parikrama will sport the captain’s armband while Prashanth R will be his deputy. Other officials travelling with the team include MG Chandrashekar and J Chandrashekhar.

State selection trials for Junior National Dr. BC Roy Trophy

Trials for Karnataka state team for Junior National U-19 Dr. BC Roy Trophy Tier I will be held on Wednesday, November 8, at Bangalore Football Stadium. 

Junior National Championship, Dr. BC Roy Trophy will be held from December 5 to 15, 2017 at Hoshiarpur, Punjab.

Players born on or after January 1, 2001 and not later than December 31, 2002 are eligible. 

Players attending trail should bring original Birth Certificate issued by Panchayat/Municipal Authorities/Registrar of Births. The date of registration of birth mentioned in the certificate should be within one year of the actual date of birth of the concerned player or school leaving certificate (other than play school) from the first attended recognized school that is clearly indicating the date of birth of the concerned player and also any original photo ID Proof. 

Players have to report on November 8, 11:30 am at Bangalore Football Stadium with any of the above mentioned certificate.

Vinaya Seshan to lead Karnataka in Junior Girls National

Karnataka State Football Association (KSFA) today announced the state team squad the for junior girls participating in national football championship to held at Cuttack, Odisha. From July 26, 2017 to August 10, 2017.

A total of 8 groups are in the competition, the topper of each group will be qualified to the knock-out stage. Karnataka is placed in Group D with Jharkhand and Rajasthan.  

Karnataka will play against Rajasthan on July 28 and Jharkhand on July 30.

Karnataka boys reach finals of Tier II U19 Nationals

Karnataka state boys defeated Services in the semi-final of Dr. BC Roy Junior National Championship at Barabati Stadium, Cuttack today. 

Playing an attacking game, Karnataka took lead in the 15th minute from a Sudeer Kotikela goal. Team extended lead in the 38th minute, scorer Surya S.  Sudeer scored another goal in the second half, finishing with a 3-0 scoreline. 

Team will meet Meghalaya at the Tier II final 4 pm, Thursday, May 4. 
Last time Karnataka reached final was seven seasons back at Mandya where they eventually emerged champions.

This team coached by former HAL player Ravi Kumar, who meticulously prepared the boys for 30 days. Interestingly, as a player and captain, Ravi Kumar won the same trophy at the same city in the 80s.

Rudra to captain Karnataka in Junior National BC Roy Trophy

Former junior national and LRDE footballer Edwin passes away


Former Karnataka state junior and LRDE footballer S Babu, popularly known as Edwin, passed away today 6:30 am at the Bowring Hospital. Edwin was only 49 years old and was suffering from severe asthma for last 15 days. 

Hailing from the breeding ground of football, Gouthampuram, Edwin represented State in Junior Nationals in 1988. He used in play in mid-field position with outstanding knowledge about ball distribution. Edwin joined LRDE in 1992. 

He left behind his wife, a son, and a daughter.

His body was kept in Gouthamapuram, later taken to Ulsoor, LakshmiPuram Burial Ground. The burial took place at 5 pm.  

KSFA and BDFA  condoled the untimely death of the footballer. BDFA observed a minute of silence in today's C Division match between NP Kempe Gowda and Young Muslims.

[Notice] Girls u-18 coaching-cum-selection camp

KSFA is conducting coaching-cum-selection camp at the Bangalore Football Stadium for under-18 junior girls’ national football championship. 

The coaching-cum-selection camp will be held on September 9, 4 pm - 6 pm, selected girls would be participating the junior national football championship during the first week of October. 

Players born between January 1, 1998 and December 31 2002 are eligible to participate in the coaching-cum-selection camp.
