FCBU get past Dream United 1-0
FCBU Media
Under cloudy skies, FC Bengaluru United (FCBU) battled hard to record a 1-0 win over Dream United (DU) in their fourth game of the ongoing BDFA Super Division Championship 2021-22 at the Bengaluru Football Stadium. Kynsailang Khongsit (44) was the lone goalscorer for the match as the defending champions notched up their fourth win on the trot.
Both teams began cautiously. FCBU had the early chance – four minutes in, a cross from Khongsit fell neatly in Luka Majcen’s path, but was saved by the DU keeper. FCBU slowly started to build up the pressure, keeping control of possession, but were unable to convert any of the early opportunities, letting go off the ball in the midfield.
Towards the middle of the first half though, the defending champions picked up the pace. In the 34th minute Ronaldo’s shot on goal coming off the back of a perfect set up was dragged just wide of the post. In the 38th minute Chelston Pinto and Majcen combined to score, but it was declared offside. The deadlock was finally broken in the 44th minute - Aenam G Jurwa adroitly evaded the DU defence, setting up an easy tap in for Khongsit.
The script ran along similar lines in the second half – FCBU created several opportunities and tested the DU defence but were unable to convert. Luka, Aenam as well as Hayden Fernandes and Shelton Paul - who came on as substitutes - pressed hard and created attacking opportunities, but conversion eluded them.
FCBU play their next game against Students Union on 18th November.

Bengaluru FC, Dream United end in 1-1 draw in BDFA Super Division League opener
Bengaluru FC Media
Bengaluru FC began their 2021-22 BDFA Super Division League campaign with a 1-1 draw against Bangalore Dream United, at the Bangalore Football Stadium, on Wednesday. Jagdeep Singh (4’) gave the Blue Colts an early lead, before Nima Lepcha’s second half penalty (64’) levelled the score.
The Blue Colts started the game on the front foot, and almost took the lead in the third minute when Lalthangliana lobbed the ball over the onrushing Dream United goalkeeper Nidhinlal Moolakaveedu, but couldn’t power his shot into an empty goal. Jagdeep made amends a minute later, latching onto a loose ball at the edge of the box and curling his shot in, to put his team 1-0 up.
In the 20th minute, Lalthangliana found space inside the box and cut back to skipper Biswa Darjee, whose looping shot sailed just over the crossbar. Despite being pegged back for most of the half, Dream United had two good chances in the space of as many minutes to get the equaliser. Abdulla SK wriggled free of two defenders in the box but saw his shot sail over the bar, before T Hariharan’s effort from close range in the 39th minute whizzed past the face of the goal.
Dream United got back on level terms just past the hour mark, when the referee pointed to the spot following Robin Yadav’s handball in the box. Nima managed to squeeze his penalty past Manik Baliyan’s outstretched hands to make it 1-1.
Down to 10 men in the final minutes after R Suhas picked up a second yellow card, Dream United ambled with possession and defended in numbers to hold on to a draw. The Blues Colts are back in action on October 30, at the same venue, when they take on ADE FC.

Bengaluru Colts keep title defence on track with 4-0 win over Dream United
Bengaluru FC Media
Bengaluru FC’s perfect start to their BDFA Super Division League continued with a 4-0 defeat of Bangalore Dream United FC at the Bengaluru Football Stadium, on Tuesday. The win, their sixth in six games, sees the Blue Colts take a three point lead atop the League standings.
Sandesh Bhoite’s boys dominated proceedings from the get go, and the pressure paid off with an early lead when a corner in the 11th minute fell to an unmarked Jagdeep Singh. The right-back’s lob into the six-yard box was finished on the volley by skipper Robin Yadav to put the Blue Colts 1-0 up.
Bengaluru controlled play after taking the lead but couldn’t convert their chances. Bangalore Dream United, on the other hand, had their only shot on target in the closing stages of the first half, but Blue Colts’ custodian Sharon Sivan produced an outstanding one-handed save on the stretch to deny Avhishek Singh.
It took five minutes for the side to double their lead in the second half, as Shivasakthi, on as a half time substitute, cut inside in the box and used the outside of his right foot to curl the ball into the far corner with BDU ’keeper Anandu rooted to his spot.
The final ten minutes saw Bengaluru add two more to the scoreboard when, in the 82d minute, Anandu managed to save Shivasakthi’s effort from close range but Akashdeep Singh reacted to slot home the rebound. FC Bengaluru hammer Dream United 6-0
FC Bengaluru United Media
FC Bengaluru United continued their dominant march in BDFA
Super Division campaign sweeping Dream
United 6-0 in their fourth game. United began the game in similar fashion to
their previous three outings – on the ball right away. Chaitan and Ronaldo
combined to put away a Hayden freekick to get them on the scoreboard in the
15th minute.
From then onwards, it was largely a one-team show with FC
Bengaluru United taking control of the proceedings with strong attacking play, through
balls, and so on. Their defense held strong when Bangalore Dream United had
their brief attacking forays, which were immediately counter-attacked with
goal-scoring runs.
The half-time score of 4-0 was soon pushed to 6-0 with
substitutes Asrar and Joshua making an immediate impact.
A commanding performance thus far and FC Bengaluru United
will be keen to keep up the ascendancy in the upcoming games.

Bengaluru United beat ADE 4-0
FC Bengaluru United Media
FC Bengaluru United turned in an emphatic performance yet again to beat ADE FC 4-0 in their third game of the BDFA Super Division Campaign. Dominant from the word go, FC Bengaluru United kept their foot on the pedal throughout to secure a hat trick of wins in the tournament.
FC Bengaluru United started off playing aggressively, a move that soon yielded rich dividends. Jaison got them on the scoreboard with a beautiful goal curled in from just inside the top box. A smart assist from Kiran to Chetan saw him dribble adroitly past two defenders and FC Bengaluru United were up 2-0 in 35 minutes. And their defense game was on point as well – with ADE FC barely getting any chances on the goal.
FC Bengaluru United didn’t let the momentum slip in the second half – and much like their first game against Income Tax, their substitutes too had a say! Malem, who came on around the 50th minute, took charge of a cross from Ronald and netted it safely into the goal. And in the 72nd minute, Ronaldo scored off a free kick to top off what has been a commanding performance from FC Bengaluru United thus far- strong in attack and sturdy in defense!

South United cruise to 5-1 victory over Dream United
Despite conceding a goal, South United came back strongly, and emerged 5-1 victors against Dream United played yesterday evening. South United largely restricted their opponents to chances from set-pieces and shots from distance at one end as they continuously created opportunities down the other end.
South United started the game well on the front foot, dominating possession as they pushed Bangalore Dream United back. Though they had most of the ball, it was Dream United who bagged the opener from a break as Akshay’s low cross found Aditya in the middle who slotted past the keeper with little pressure on him.
The lead didn’t last too long as Umesh let fly from distance to equalise in the 23rd minute. Once SUFC drew level, they started to dominate proceedings and in the 36th minute Aaron was brought down in the box to win his side a penalty. Rungsing put SUFC in the lead from the spot and there was no looking back.
Going into half-time, South United were showing no signs of letting up. They picked up where they left off in the second half as Sudipta and Aaron drove most of the attacks. Umesh bagged his second at the 59-minute mark after Sudipta beat three men with a mazy run to lay it on a plate for him.
Jaison put some real daylight between the teams as he beat his marker with a smart turn and finished with aplomb past the diving goalkeeper. South United would have a few scares as Bangalore Dream United got a couple of shots on target but Bernard was alert in goal to save on more than a couple of occasions.
Substitute Vikram added South United’s fifth in the 90th minute to make it an absolute mauling of Bangalore Dream United. SUFC now have two wins in three games as they look forward to putting together a run.
